Dear Friends,
It’s been a little while since we had a chance to send an update. It’s been 7 months since Andi was born and can you believe we are still transitioning? We are finally getting a handle of life and ministry with multiple kids… every minute of it has been worth it.
As you can imagine life is as busy as ever. It has been a year of change for us, as we adjust to our new team and figure out our new role as team leader for Destino at UC Davis and in the Northern California area. Many things are unchanged in our ministry, but this switch has brought some challenges and new responsibilities so we covet your prayers right now.
Next week on Tuesday the 28th of April, Campus Crusade for Christ missionaries, staff, and volunteers around the world will be praying together. We believe prayer is key in developing more passion for God and more dependence upon Him. The theme is "Our Strength and Our Shield." If you want to join with us you can prepare your heart by meditating on Psalm 28:7 and 46:1 with us till then.
SOME OF OUR PRAYER REQUESTS
Ken and I are adjusting to the changes that are going on organizationally within Campus Crusade for Christ as together we pursue reaching every student with the Gospel. Because we have been working on a multiple movement campus, these changes are affecting us first. As an organization we are tweaking our paradigms a bit to encourage all our missionaries to reach beyond there current ministries and build multiple movements. For us practically, it means trying to launch Destino movements on neighboring campuses like Sac State and San Jose State. It also means disconnecting even more from the team we are currently part of, and laboring alone as there are very few full time laborers working in Destino. It’s a bit messy and we feel it.
Pray that we would be able to connect to a home group or community group within our church as a couple. I have formed a large support network among mom’s and women outside of Campus Crusade. But, Ken is feeling a disparity in this area and doesn’t have many peers up here.
Please pray for the Lord’s provision for us. We are so blessed at how the Lord has faithfully provided for our needs over the last few years. But with the downturn in the economy, we have felt the pinch as many of you have, as we have seen a downturn in giving to our ministry. Ken and I will be looking for a way to spend part of our summer to raise additional funds for our ministry. We’re not sure how to do this as there is little time between our summer mission project and the start of the school year. Please pray for the Lord’s continued provision. And for him to raise up new ministry partners to join with us in our ministry.
