Over President’s weekend, we held our first ever Destino Leaders retreat. In previous years, we attended a national Destino conference that our region has hosted over the last three years in Southern California. Destino, however, being in the pioneering stage of a ministry just doesn’t yet have the student involvement to support it’s our conference regionally or nationally.
So, to cast vision to the student leaders in our region, we invited our key students and 15 leaders attended. They represented campuses from all over our region. Of course UC Davis attended as well as Cal Poly Pomona, USC, UCLA, Long Beach State and Fresno State. Some of these campuses have established ministries like ours, while others are just getting started.
It was an encouraging weekend for Ken as they talked about the future of Destino and sought to influence students who attended, like Tiffany a senior and Denise a junior from our campus, to lead in their movements back on campus.
There is still much more work that needs to be done in order for Destino to become established as a ministry within Campus Crusade for Christ. Please continue to pray for us and the other staff involved with Destino as we break new ground in ministry.
