On Thursday, April 12th, a unique opportunity to reach muslims will take place on the campus of UC Davis. The muslim student association along with Campus Crusade and College Life (a Campus Christian organization) is hosting a debate on whether Muhammed is actually the prophet Muslims claim he is. For those of you who are familiar with evangelizing to Muslims, the one subject which Muslims are unwilling to debate is the validity of Mohammed as a prophet. And yet that discussion is critical. One billion Muslims exist in the world who believe unquestioningly that Muhammed was an infallible prophet. In order to tell them about the death and resurrection of Christ, it is important that we be able to show that Christ is the Messiah and Son of God, claims Mohammed contradicted. We have the rare opportunity to discuss the validity of Mohammed's claims and refute them.
But this is truly a spiritual battle. Satan does not want the truth to be known. He would rather muslims never believed in Christ. So we need your prayers for this event. Pray for the debater we are bringing, David Wood, that he would be able to argue convincingly that Mohammed is not the true prophet of God. Pray also for hearts to be open because, of course, this is a loaded issue and passions will probably run very high. Pray that muslim students would be open to considering the evidence.
