Dear Friends,
Hope this note finds you well and you are enjoying your fall. We have a lot of news as we are having a great start to the school year. So far, we are seeing the number involved in our group almost triple since the end of last spring! Ken is really enjoying pouring his life into the Destino men & women he is leading. He has a real challenge this year leading his small group bible study as the men involved in his study range from non-believers to brand new believers to mature Christians this year. Please pray for Jose, who has been coming with his roommate Yayo. He does not yet know the Lord personally. Ken is trying to arrange a time to get together with him one on one to share the Gospel with him.
Probably the biggest news to fill you in on this school year is the arrival of our second bundle of joy… Andi! She was born just before the year launched. To see lots of baby pic’s and get more details check out the archives and pictures pages. As for me personally, I have been taking it easy as I am on maternity leave… but, I continue to briefly connect with our women leaders to guide and support them as we launch the New Year. They are very excited as we are raising up our largest freshman class for Destino ever!
Our Fall Retreat is this coming weekend. We currently have 178 students signed up and could see up to 200 or more students come. This is the largest total we have seen of 5 retreats we’ve been involved with here! It is going to be a great weekend as we dive deep into God’s word and spend time building relationships. We already have a bunch of non-believers signed up to come, so please pray God would draw them into a relationship with Himself this weekend.
Also… Praise God as we have also seen 7 students come to Christ through our movement in the first month of school! Including 3 Ken has seen personally; Effren, Luis, & Marcos. Please pray for them as we seek to give them biblical foundations to follow and live by.
Thanks so much for your partnership in the Gospel! We appreciate you!
In Christ, Ken and Amy
